2. Hosting and server log files

When this website is accessed, the web server processes technical data required to deliver the website. This may include the IP address, date and time of access, requested file or URL, amount of data transferred, HTTP status code, referrer URL and information about the browser and operating system used.

Where personal data are involved, processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure, stable and technically error-free provision of the website and the prevention and analysis of misuse and attacks. The hosting service provider used by us may receive these data as a processor. Log data are retained only for as long as necessary for secure technical operation and the investigation of specific security incidents.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

Under the website's current technical configuration, Asclepidarium does not use cookies or similar technologies that require consent. In particular, we do not use analytics, marketing, profiling or tracking cookies, and we do not use advertising trackers.

The internal search, random selection of images on the home page and language switching work without storing corresponding information on the user's device. Therefore, no consent or cookie banner is currently displayed. Where access to or storage on an end device is strictly necessary within the meaning of Section 25(2) TDDDG, no consent is required under German law. If the technical configuration of the website changes, this privacy policy will be updated and consent will be obtained where required.

4. Page-view counter

The website uses its own server-side page-view counter. The counter script stores only one aggregate total number of page views. It does not set cookies and does not store IP addresses. The user agent is processed only briefly to avoid counting typical search-engine bots where possible; it is not stored permanently by the counter script.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is a simple and privacy-friendly overview of website reach without creating user profiles and without transferring data to analytics providers.

5. Internal search and language selection

The website search runs in the browser using a locally supplied search index. Search terms entered are not transmitted to us or to external search providers. Under the current implementation, switching between German and English also does not set cookies.

6. External content and services

The website currently does not embed external analytics, advertising or tracking services, externally hosted fonts, or automatically loaded content from video, mapping or social-media platforms. External websites are reached only via normal links; a connection to the respective third party is established only after such a link is clicked.

7. Contact by email

If you contact us by email, we process the data you provide, in particular your email address, your name where provided, and the content of your message, in order to respond to your enquiry.

For general enquiries, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Where your message relates to entering into or performing a contract, processing is additionally based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. The data are deleted once the enquiry has been finally dealt with unless statutory retention obligations or legitimate reasons require longer storage.

8. Your rights

Subject to the requirements of the GDPR, you have in particular the right of access to your personal data, rectification of inaccurate data, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and – where processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR – the right to object on grounds relating to your particular situation.

You may exercise your rights at any time by contacting the email addresses listed above.

9. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. For non-public bodies established in Baden-Württemberg, the relevant authority is in particular:

The State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg
Heilbronner Straße 35
70191 Stuttgart
Germany
Email: poststelle@lfdi.bwl.de

10. Updates to this privacy policy

We will update this privacy policy if the technical configuration of the website, the services used or the legal requirements change.
